Dr. Mark J. Vigil, PT, DPT
Mark Vigil graduated from La Cueva High School in 2004 after achieving 1 academic letter and 6 athletic letters. He was a part of 4 state championship teams in soccer and track. Mark then moved on to the University of New Mexico where he achieved his bachelor’s in science in exercise science. While awaiting acceptance into physical therapy school, Mark worked as a physical therapy tech and an accounts manager for the New Mexico Coalition for Charter Schools. He then was accepted to the Midwestern University physical therapy program in Glendale, Arizona. During his education there he had clinical experiences including general outpatient services at Ideal Rehab Soma in Mesa, Arizona, a geriatric specific outpatient clinic in Surprise, Arizona, outpatient rehab at Banner Casa Grande in Casa Grande, Arizona, and lastly at Advanced Health Care of Albuquerque, a skilled nursing facility in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Mark has also volunteered with the Muthu Barry Junior Wheelchair Sports Camp and plans to volunteer with local high school athletes to help with injury prevention. Mark joined the Think Back team in 2015 engaging fully in the ideals of personalized and compassionate care. Mark is active in his personal life with hiking, gardening, biking, running, strength training, star gazing, and attending live music events. Mark considers himself a true New Mexican and has no plans on leaving Albuquerque the city that raised him and that he loves.
Gloria has been working in the medical field for more than 25 years, and is an important part of our physical therapy family. She loves the atmosphere of patient rehabilitation, and loves working with the patients. Gloria is the first smiling face you will see when you arrive at our clinic, and her goal is to make your time spent here warm, welcoming, and positive. She is always ready to answer any questions you may have regarding paperwork, scheduling, or insurance coverage. She has been married for 29 years, and enjoys spending time with her children and family.
Jelise graduated from the University of New Mexico with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. Jelise hopes to pursue a Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy, and will be applying to the Physical Therapy program at University of New Mexico in the near future. Jelise is a valuable part of our Think Back team, and spends most of her time working with patients towards their rehabilitation goals, under the direction of our Physical Therapists. Jelise also assists with many front office functions. Jelise is an identical twin, and a lifelong resident of New Mexico. Jelise was born here in Albuquerque and was raised on the family farm in Polvadera, New Mexico. She enjoys big game hunting, camping, fishing, running, playing sports and spending time with her family.
Our friendly and courteous staff is directed towards assisting patients in making their rehabilitation process more pleasant and less stressful. They are also readily available to assist with the communicating with the physician, rehabilitation counselor, insurance adjuster and/or attorney requests for medical records. Our therapists are in regular contact with the referring physicians regarding their patients' goals and progress.
Our practice is a learning atmosphere, and we welcome inquiries from individuals that are seeking volunteer experience in furtherance of their education in the rehabilitation field.
Annette Cruz graduated with Honors from Alamogordo High School in 1999. From there she attended New Mexico Highlands University for two years, where she played collegiate soccer. She transferred to the University of New Mexico in 2001 and graduated with a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. She then worked at a private outpatient clinic for 18 months as a PT Technician before starting Physical Therapy school at UNM. She has had the opportunity to work in various clinical settings throughout her schooling, including acute care at UNMH, pediatric early intervention at La Vida Felicidad in Los Lunas, NM, Early Childhood Evaluation Program, outpatient rehabilitation at Yavapaii Regional Physical Therapy in Prescott, Arizona, and outpatient rehabilitation at Langford Sports and PT in Albuquerque, NM. Volunteer experiences include UNMH, Presbyterian Hospital, and Bear Canyon Physical Therapy. Annette joined the Think Back team in 2009, ensuring an ongoing focus on quality personal care. Annette currently enjoys many activities including playing soccer, running, and many other outdoor activities as well as reading and listening to music. She is enjoying life in Albuquerque with her husband and children, where she plans on making her home.
